Work in Progress

Man: when it starts to hurt let’s sing something…

Ellie: It’s going to hurt?

Man: I think so… I wanted to feel it just a little. We’ll be awake for a while at least. I think it’ll be fast though.

Ellie: I don’t want to go yet.

Man: I know. Me too.

Ellie: I wish I had a biscuit. I can’t really eat, just to hold you know… warm.

Man: That’s a great wish (pause) I wish we still had a dog

Ellie: I wish for infinity wishes

Man: We’d never have to work again

Ellie: early retirement

Man: that’s us

(short pause)

Ellie: I want to sing something sweet really sweet

Man: Should we sing I Will Follow You into the Dark?

Ellie: But that’s like exactly about this… is it weird?

Man: There’s a song about everything

Ellie: Should we sing something happy?

Man: I don’t think we can sing anything happy

Ellie: yeah

Man: we should wait though.

Ellie: until it hurts.

Man: yeah

(short pause)

Ellie: who was your best lover?

Man: you

….
